If you love exploring new coffee recipes, Pune’s new Cafe CAW-Coffee Around World, has it in the name! Located in Erandawne near Nal Stop, this specialty coffee cafe brings authentic coffee preparations from different countries. Instead of serving only basic lattes and cappuccinos, they highlight traditional brewing techniques and regional recipes from across the globe. I stopped by to try a few of their international offerings.

Turkish Coffee

I started my tasting with the traditional Turkish Coffee. They brew this drink in a small pot using fine ground coffee beans without filtering them. This preparation gives the coffee a strong aroma, a thick body, and a deep, intense flavor profile. You get a rich, unadulterated coffee taste in every sip.

Italian Marocchino

Next, I tried the Italian Marocchino, which comes served in a small clear glass. Before pouring the drink, they layer the inside walls of the glass with Nutella. They then pour a shot of espresso and top it with milk froth and a dusting of cocoa powder. The warmth of the espresso melts the Nutella, creating a smooth, indulgence-rich blend of coffee and chocolate.

German Eiskaffee

For the cold options, I began with the German Eiskaffee. They fill a tall glass with scoops of vanilla ice cream, pour chilled brewed coffee directly over the ice cream, and finish it with a light layer of whipped cream. As the ice cream slowly melts into the coffee, the drink becomes creamy, cold, and sweet.

Hong Kong Yuanyang

I then tried the Hong Kong classic, Yuanyang. They mix black tea with black coffee. The tea adds a sharp, aromatic note, while the condensed milk cuts through the bitterness of both the tea and coffee. The result is a smooth, caffeine-rich drink with a distinct flavor profile.

Vietnamese Cà Phê Sua Da

I ended my visit with the Vietnamese Cà Phê Sua Da. They brew dark roast coffee using a traditional metal drip percolator placed directly on top of the glass. The hot coffee slowly drips down into a base of sweet condensed milk. Once the brewing finishes, they froth the mixture vigorously until it becomes light, airy, and foamy. Served over ice, it delivers a sweet, strong, and highly refreshing cold coffee experience.
