Tibetan place in KP serving food just like a mother would cook!

A quaint place located in South Main Road of Koregaon Park is truly a hidden gem. Tibetan Mother’s Kitchen in Pune is the third restaurant of this chain after Delhi & Bangalore, opened by three Tibetan friends. The ambience is very welcoming & gives a feeling of homely warmth & comfort.

Welcome to the world of Tibetan cuisine: a largely undiscovered treasure. Today, Tibetan food is esoteric and lies under-the-radar on the global culinary spectrum, a rather unfortunate situation when considering its highly versatile flavor profile. It is an amalgamation of color: a proud representation of Tibetan history and people, who have long epitomized compassion, simplicity, and resilience.

Their kitchen has varied offerings from the Tibetan & Korean cuisine to offer which surely are healthy & sumptuous meals just like the monks enjoy. With that being said, here are a few mouthwatering Tibetan dishes that are sure to work up an appetite in no time.

Some of the dishes from their menu that I suggest are as below –

Lovely Boba Teas which are Taiwanese which can be customized with your favourite flavor like caramel, strawberries or mixed berries.
Baozi Breakfast – It has maida dumplings steamed and stuffed with vegetables or chicken/pork, rice porridge on side and a small portion of kheer rice.
Shapta– Shap means meat and ta means wok fried, wok fried vegetables and meat in oyster sauce.
Kothey Momo– steamed and pan fried momos are served with schezwan and chilli sauce.
Mothuk– which is a Momo and thukpa, momos are boiled in a thukpa soup.
Shabhaley– deep fried momos which are bigger in size.
Potangmian– hand pulled noodles tossed in vegetables and chicken.
Thenthuk– hand pulled flat noodles in soup with a choice of vegetable/chicken
