Cactus is run by Chetan Varia, a jolly person who will everytime greet you wholeheartedly. For 26 years, this beer bar has kept their customers hooked to its classic ambience, an inexpensive menu of mild beers and starters only! From the moment you enter the bar you can see boards with crazy lines and they are totally unapologetic. These boards, illustrations and the quirky liners lift up your mood and make sure you’re in the right spirit! The entrance itself has “Husband Care Center”, “We Have Cold Beer just like your Ex”. The rest we will leave to your wild imagination!
The seating area has laid back vibes like a classic bar, with funky blue lighting and cartoonish graffiti art on the wall. Pop music ranging from 70s to 90s depending on the owner’s mood decides the playlist for the day. The day we went, it was all Bollywood, but classic R D Burman numbers! The whole bar is still the same since ‘97, from the old stairs to the simple seating and entrance board too.
Coming to the most important thing, Beers! Cactus serves only chilled mild beer and only fried snacks to nibble. The prices are so affordable you’ll be surprised. Guess what, you get London Pilsner (LP is love) here! The usual suspects such as Kingfisher, Corona, Budweiser, Heineken and even new entrants like Copter7 also make their appearance here! It’s not just pints but guess what, you get full bottles also!
Finger food cum starters here range from classic chakna like peanuts, wafers, cheese, boiled eggs to chicken wings, nuggets, crab lollipop, spicy fish fingers and even spring rolls too!
