As soon as you walk into Dastkar Bazaar, you realise this isn’t just another shopping exhibition. It feels more like a cultural journey. One of the most unique finds here is Camel milk and black wheat biscuits, along with camel milk powder sourced directly from Rajasthan. These products reflect traditional food wisdom while meeting modern needs.
Jewellery lovers will be drawn to beautiful pieces from the Dhenkanal district of Odisha. Here, generations of artisans have preserved intricate metalwork techniques. Adding to the experience is Mukesh Meenakar, a National Award winner. He has brought never-before-seen meenakari jewellery to Pune. His designs feel modern while staying deeply rooted in tradition.
Art blends seamlessly into everyday life at Dastkar. Authentic Warli art has been turned into every day-use products. It makes it easy to take a piece of tribal storytelling home. From the colder regions of India comes warm yak and sheep wool jackets. These mountain-sourced pieces are truly top-notch in both quality and design.
The exhibition goes far beyond typical fabric stalls. Along with Kantha, Ilkal, Bagh print, Bengal handloom, Warli, and Ikat, there is a wide range of ready-made clothing. Unique jackets with detailed Kasuti embroidery from Karnataka add richness to the collection.
Contemporary tastes are also well represented. You’ll find macramé products with a clean, modern style. There are statement leather bags and bold Kantha shirts for both boys and girls. Delicate miniature pottery catches the eye. For children, there are organic clothing options as well.
From Ladakh come yak ghee, traditional health foods, organic teas, and luxurious pashmina stoles and scarves. Art lovers will appreciate Banjara and Lambani works by a National Award winner from Maharashtra. Rare Kashmiri rugs and original Tibetan Thangka paintings from Himachal Pradesh are truly breathtaking. The intricate mandala designs are especially striking.
Rounding off the experience is Studio Vam. It offers bold statement pieces for those who like expressive style. Dastkar Bazaar is not just about shopping. It’s about discovering stories, skills, and soul in every handcrafted piece.
