If you are on the hunt for the best burgers in Pune, then head straight to 11 East Street Café in Camp, Pune! If you believe you’ve had the best burgers already, think again — 11 East Street Café is here to surprise you with their ongoing Burgers Festival. This 17-year-old London-themed diner has always been a favourite for its iconic red double-decker bus, telephone booth, and charming colonial interiors. This month, it is all about burgers — and not just any burgers — but innovative creations that bring together flavours from across the globe.
The festival offers 10 unique burger varieties, ranging from fiery Sriracha to comforting Makhani, and even Asian-inspired Satay. I got to try four of their absolute show-stoppers, and each one redefined what a burger experience can be.
Jack Daniels Pull Me Up Burger
First up was the Jack Daniels Pull Me Up Burger (₹530). This one is for anyone who loves bold, boozy flavours. Generous chunks of grilled chicken are tossed in a special Jack Daniels sauce that has just the right balance of smokiness and caramel notes from the bourbon whiskey. And no, they are not stingy with the JD – the sauce packs a real punch.
Hot Plate Cheese Burger
The next burger turned out to be my favourite – the Hot Plate Cheese Burger (₹610). Imagine this: a freshly grilled chicken patty tucked between soft buns, served with coleslaw, cut into half and then dunked into a bubbling cheese sauce right at your table. The result? A messy, gooey, drool-worthy bite that elevates the whole burger-eating experience.
Paneer Satay Burger
Vegetarians, don’t worry — the Paneer Satay Burger (₹410) is just as indulgent. A thick slab of grilled paneer coated with nutty Satay sauce delivers a beautiful balance of sweet, salty, and spicy flavours. Add a slice of melty cheese, and you have a burger that is Asian yet cheesy.
Kheema Burger
And finally, the Kheema Burger (₹570) – a nostalgic nod to Pune’s love for kheema pav. The star here is the hand-pounded mutton kheema (yes, not chicken kheema!) stuffed generously into the bun, topped with a half-fried egg. Each bite is meaty and messy— exactly how a kheema dish should be.
This Burger Festival is on till 31st October, so put it on your wishlist before you miss out.
