A heritage Study tour is being hosted by a Pune-based group called Firasti Maharashtrachi. As part of the tour you will visit the famous Bhuleshwar temple and temples located in the Saswad region.

The range of the Sahyadri Mountains located to the south of Pune city is known as ‘Bhuleshwar’s row ‘. Daulatmangal fort along with Sinhagad and Malhargad are the major forts in that range.

The leaders, Shantanu Paranjpe and Anurag Vaidya will immerse you in easy-to-understand sessions on Archaeology, Art History and Heritage. Shantanu and Anurag are passionate about Art History and have authored a book on Forts in Maharashtra. They often conduct study tours and heritage walks around the city.

The Bhuleshwar temple is said to have been built in the 8th century and houses a Shiva linga and an idol of lord of Lord Ganesha. It also traces its origin to the Pandavas according to some tales in the Hindu Mythology. The formation of the exterior of the Bhuleshwar temple is definitely worth seeing.

Other temples and places of visit included in the trip are Changavateshwar, Bhairavnath Temple, Sangameshwar Temple, Santshrestha Sopandev Samadhi and Purandare Wada.
