The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will be running a Pilgrim Special tourist train from Pune to important holy shrines in the country.

The train, called the Shri Rampath Yatra is set to operate from November 27, 2021. It will have AC 3 tier and sleeper class coaches and will offer a special tourism 7N/8D package.

The Rampath Yatra will allow boarding and deboarding at Lonavala, Panvel, Kalyan, Nasik, Manmad, Chalisgaon, Jalgoan, Bhushwal, Khandwa and Itarasi. It will cover destinations like Ayodhya, Chitrakoot, Prayag, Shringaverpur and Varanasi and make its return journey to Pune.

The package will also include accommodation, local transportation and food services. The standard package is available at a price of Rs. 7,560 per person while the comfort package is priced at Rs. 12,600 per person.  The package is inclusive of travel insurance and all health protocols will be followed to ensure safety of passengers during the ongoing pandemic.

The Shri Rampath Yatra is part of the ‘Swadesh Darshan’ scheme being promoted by the Ministry of Tourism, Central Government.

The IRCTC has already launched a similar train, Shri Ramayana Yatra running from Delhi to Delhi and has received a good response.
