Chorizo, Racheado, Caffreal, Poee, Fish, Prawns– all this reminds you only of one place on earth, viz. Goa! The pungent aromas and bold flavours of their street food are never explored outside Goa. But three Pune boys have come together to give you this authentic Goan street food experience, for the very first time in the city!

Usually, it is the Goan fish curry and fry that you see on the menus here in Pune. But newly opened Margo’s on Bhandarkar road open up a totally new flavours of Goa and especially the streets Thelas of Goa. We visited them for a quick evening snack and were surprised to find such a variety on the menu.

Entire food menu is basically various cutlets, masala fry, etc preparations stuffed in the quite essential traditional Goan bread, Poi. Full marks to their Poi that they bake in-house! It forms the core of all Goan street food dishes!

In Recheado masala, you get options of Oyster mushroom cutlet and chicken steak; while Caffreal is also offering similar options. We tried Chicken steak in Recheado masala and Caffreal with mushroom cutlet which is rava fried. Both came stuffed in rustic Poi along with some salad. Typical Goan flavours are on point here!

The star dish according to us at Margo’s is Chorizo Pao! Made using pork sausages that directly come from Goa, this one packs a variety of bold flavours like sweet, spicy, garlicky and meaty. One dish we guarantee you won’t get anywhere else and is worth going back for! Pork lovers, you better rush to Margo’s soon!

The drinks menu at Margo’s has only a couple of options, but the inclusion of Tender Coconut Milkshake is the right thing they have done to transport you to the coast! This one milkshake naturally cools you down with all its sweet and nutty flavours and the creamy texture. One hell of a vegan milk-shake to end this street meal packed with flavours, textures, meats and emotions!
