From New Aswad Gomantak’s entire menu, two unique dishes caught our attention. Standing Pomfret stuffed with prawns, crazy as it sounds, its taste will also surprise you. The best part is that the fish doesn’t smell at all! This 250 gram pomfret is stuffed with almost 100-150 gram of chopped prawns mixed in their secret masala. The fish is then deep-fried with prawns inside it. Due to the rice-flour coating, the Pomfret does not get at all oily or greasy. Fish is so fresh that it will literally melt in your mouth. Prawns on the inside are a literal blast of flavours. A spicy yet not too masaledar filling is the true hero! All the flavours in the dish perfectly complement each other in every bite.
The first dish had literally raised our expectations for the next one that is equally unique. Prawns Papad Roll, a unique take on Spring Roll, but desi! Prawns Papad Roll is a combination of textures and mind blowing flavours. No maida and not too oily or greasy, filled with 150grams prawns and secret spices, this dish is quite healthy! One bite and you’ll crave for a glass of beer. A perfect crunch on outside and soft prawn filling on the inside is an experience like nothing else. The roll is accompanied with fresh coconut garlic chutney and fiery Sichuan chutney. We would advise, order this dish home and have a chilled beer with it!
