There is a new place in Viman Nagar which is no fuss and is all about relaxed cafe vibes along with food that makes you just happy! We are talking about a cute little cafe named May Cafe and their menu that any Indian would call super comforting. You have not tried a menu like this in a cafe like ambiance!
May Café’s stars are Chicken Keema and super yummy Chicken Bhuna served with buttered pav. Cooked in the traditional way with all fresh spices and meats, these dishes are presented here in a very modern way. These dishes are spicy but very comforting and they have chilled beverages like butterscotch and cold coffee milkshakes to finish off the meal! We could taste the freshness of the premium ingredients used and even the keema did not feel store bought frozen one. It is quite rare that you get Chicken Bhuna Pav combinations in the city and even if you do, this is mostly available at fast food eateries.
The fresh yet ready made sandwiches on their counter are equally unique in their flavour offering. With out and out Indian flavours, these sandwiches offer you wholesome options like Chicken Spicy Mayonnaise and Paneer Creamy Mayonnaise. You can pick it up off the shelf or ask the staff to grill and serve it to you right there. We tried both the sandwiches in the grilled version and they definitely are unlike the sandwiches you get at other places. They are hearty, very filling and satisfy all the Indian taste buds! These sandwiches are not typical bland ones where all you get is dressing and salad. There is tons of meat and protein along with spices that are truly Indian!
The dessert section at May Cafe deserves a special mention. This would probably be the only place in Pune that serves Serradura, a Goan Portuguese dessert. Served in a preplated cup format, this one is creamy with a marie biscuit crushed as a base- exactly how you’d get it in Goa! For those who love chocolate, their Chocolate Chip Mousse is quite unmissable. They make it in-house with eggs, cream and premium chocolate. We found it to be quite creamy but light and airy! The chocolate used was nice and dark; and the chocolate chips on the top added the right bite to this super creamy dessert.
