Pune has a new cultural destination! The Pune Municipal Corporation has built Kalagram, a beautiful open-air venue on Sinhgad Road, right next to Pu La Deshpande Garden.

The first big event here is the Dastkari Haat Exhibition. More than 200 artisans from all over India have come together to showcase their talent. It is just like Delhi’s famous Dilli Haat — but now in our own Pune!

You will find a world of art and craft here. Beautiful Sahrai, Gond, Madhubani, Kali Ghat,  and Pattachitra paintings fill the space with colour. There are Patola sarees from Rajkot, Benaras silks, Kota cotton sarees, Chanderi silks, and Ajrakh and Kalamkari fabrics from Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh.

Don’t miss the Lucknowi chikankari, Dabu indigo prints, and traditional block prints. There are handwoven bed linens, wooden toys, terracotta home décor, and brass handicrafts too.

Art lovers can admire Manipuri black stone pottery, glass miniatures, Kansa metal crockery, and bamboo crafts. There’s also jewellery made from shells, lac bangles with live demos, and Banjara embroidery jewellery. You can buy embroidered bags and stoles from Kutch or soft shawls made of merino wool from Uttarakhand.

The haat is full of life and music. Folk singers and dancers from Rajasthan and performers from Odisha bring the stage alive every evening.

And of course, there’s food! Enjoy Delhi-style chaat, Rajasthani dal baati churma, and many more regional dishes. You can also visit Neev from Jharkhand for their natural Kumkumadi products, or see pedicraft art from Odisha made with rice grains.

The Dastkari Haat is not just an exhibition. It is a celebration of India’s culture, tradition, and craftsmanship.

Entry is free, and the exhibition is open till 9th November.

Bring your friends and family to Kalagram, Sinhgad Road, and experience the beauty of handmade India — right here in Pune!
