On the occasion of Vijayadashmi, Evey Trans Private Limited, launched an inter-city bus service that promises zero-emission, noiseless and comfortable long-distance travel. PuriBus, is the first inter-city e-bus service in the country.

It can cover a distance of up to 350 km on a single charge, thus making it more efficient and cost-effective than diesel buses. The bus comes equipped with a seating capacity of 45+, free Wi-Fi, a personal in-built USB charger and luggage space of five cubic meters. It also boasts of EU Standard safety features like FDSS System with TUV certification, ADAS System (Advanced Driver Assistance System) and ITS System, as per the Indian regulatory requirement.

EVPL, a Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited group company, has been running successful e-bus services in cities like Surat, Silvassa,Dehradun,etc. It began operations on an experimental basis from October 15, 2021.

While a fixed fare hasn’t been announced, it can be estimated to be at Rs. 499. The company believes that the bus service will be profitable for inter-city travel business operations and will lead to savings in the long run.

This is part of the Union and State Governments’ plan for encouraging the adoption of electric buses in the public transport system under FAME I and FAME 2 policy initiatives, to curb pollution.
