It is a music show with a difference for it is not just professional musicians but doctors with passion for music and performance. DOCS ( Doctors’ Orchestra for Charity and Social Services) are doctors by profession and talented musicians/singers. They will be performing for the Thalassemia Society Pune Chapter ( TSPC ) to celebrate and raise funds on International Thalassemia day which is celebrated on May 8.

The Programme  Unchained Melody – Musical Evening will be held at Symbiosis, Viman Nagar – Old campus.

The majority of Thalassemia patients need blood transfusions every 2-4 weeks for their survival from the age of 8-10 months for their lifetime. TSPC helps our Thalassemia warriors by providing free medicines, and subsidized leukocyte filters. We also promote awareness drives and screening programs to eradicate Thalassemia and prevent the birth of a thalassemia major child in the future.
This musical evening will see performances by DOCS ( Doctors’ Orchestra for Charity and Social Services ) who are doctors by profession and talented musicians/singers like Chief Rhythmist – Dr. Dasmit Singh ( Paediatric Surgeon ), Dr. Supriya Gadekar ( Radiology consultant ) who has been awarded Zee Gaurav Puraskar, semi-finalist in Zee Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Dr. Kamlesh Bokil ( Cancer Surgeon ).  DOCS has hosted over 200 musical programs over 19 years.

DOCS has performed across 15 cities in India and in front of celebrities like Jackie Shroff, Sonu Nigam, Hariharan, Amol Palekar, Nana Patekar.

This musical program is also a fundraiser to be used for the better life of Thalassemia warriors and prevention initiatives.
Jackie Shroff who is the brand ambassador of TSPC will be a chief guest along with other esteemed guests from the community.
