Review:
Milind Kavde’s Takatak 2 is an even bolder and lustrous sequel to the 2019 hit sex comedy Takatak.

The film starts with a not so memorable song which is shot exactly like all the Golmaal songs. Then we see Prathamesh Parab back as Thokya going after Minakshi (Bhoomika Kadam), Sharya (Ajinkya Raut) going after Ankita (Komal Bodkhe) and Chandu (Akshay Kelkar) going after Kamakshi (Pranali Bhalerao).

Turns out all they have are just dreams and the girls aren’t eager to have sex with them. The boys decide to make their dreams their reality. Their hunt for sex begins and the story unfolds.

Every second dialogue is a double meaning joke and all of them are just outright hilarious especially for the target audience! Don’t even dare to go for this one with your families. The film definitely could have done without the bikini scenes and they are there just for the sake of it.

It hails to be the boldest comedy ever made in the Marathi industry but all the bold scenes are misplaced and not at all needed. The adult jokes do work in the first half. But just as the movie tries to go the emotional way in the second half, the jokes start drying up and the movie gets worse.

The performances are not that great but the comedy in the script saves the film. Parab might even live his whole life doing the same roles, movie after movie. The songs are really bad. A couple good songs would have helped. Also the awful remake of the good old classic Ashi Hi Banvabanvi song is a heinous crime.

A sex comedy shouldn’t always go out of the way and try to give us a message at the climax. That is the sole reason they fail as a film. Otherwise two hours full of double meaning comedy will definitely be a hit among the target audience. The low quality production makes it look like a B grade movie for most of the part.

Takatak 2 is a wannabe Grand Masti with thousands of adult jokes which makes up for an above average sequel.
