{"id":5633,"date":"2022-05-13T11:13:50","date_gmt":"2022-05-13T11:13:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.urbanly.in\/pune\/?p=5633"},"modified":"2024-09-13T13:47:32","modified_gmt":"2024-09-13T08:17:32","slug":"forest-dept-agrees-to-the-nine-demands-by-sahakar-nagar-residents-for-taljai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.urbanly.in\/pune\/green-initiatives\/forest-dept-agrees-to-the-nine-demands-by-sahakar-nagar-residents-for-taljai\/","title":{"rendered":"Forest dept agrees to the Nine demands by Sahakar Nagar residents for Taljai"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"fusion-fullwidth fullwidth-box fusion-builder-row-1 fusion-flex-container nonhundred-percent-fullwidth non-hundred-percent-height-scrolling\" style=\"--awb-border-radius-top-left:0px;--awb-border-radius-top-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-left:0px;--awb-flex-wrap:wrap;\" ><div class=\"fusion-builder-row fusion-row fusion-flex-align-items-flex-start fusion-flex-content-wrap\" style=\"max-width:1248px;margin-left: calc(-4% \/ 2 );margin-right: calc(-4% \/ 2 );\"><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-0 fusion_builder_column_1_1 1_1 fusion-flex-column\" style=\"--awb-bg-size:cover;--awb-width-large:100%;--awb-margin-top-large:0px;--awb-spacing-right-large:1.92%;--awb-margin-bottom-large:0px;--awb-spacing-left-large:1.92%;--awb-width-medium:100%;--awb-spacing-right-medium:1.92%;--awb-spacing-left-medium:1.92%;--awb-width-small:100%;--awb-spacing-right-small:1.92%;--awb-spacing-left-small:1.92%;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-flex-justify-content-flex-start fusion-content-layout-column\"><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-1\"><p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Forest officials agree to the demands of the\u00a0<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Sahakar Nagar Residents<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0who had planned a\u00a0<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Taljai Bachao Abhiyan<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0which would begin on\u00a0<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">May 15<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Following a meeting called hastily between the Sahakar Nagar Residents and the\u00a0<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Deputy Conservator of Forests<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, the residents put forth nine demands to the forest department and also stressed that the Taljai Bachao Abhiyan would continue until the Forest department acted upon the demands.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The deputy registrar of forests,\u00a0<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Rahul Patil<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0said, \u201cWe will work together with citizens to improve the development of biodiversity project on\u00a0<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Taljai Hill<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0and work together to prepare a plan. The forest department will not undertake\u00a0<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">any kind of cement<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">concrete work<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0and will concentrate on planting trees, including Miyawaki forest, medicinal plants, bamboo forest, etc. Also as per the instructions given by the Minister of State (Forest), Pune, forest department, tree planting will be done in the Taljai hill area the during the rainy season, with the participation of citizens.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The demands put forth were very straightforward and asked for citizen participation in any work on Taljai hill. \u201cWe want all the relevant documents regarding the proposed development plan on the Taljai Tekdi should be made public within 24 hours,\u201d said <strong>Indraneel Sadalge<\/strong>, heading the campaign.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The other demands are that all the machinery, JCB etc must be removed from the forest area within 24 hours, other dumped material, cement blocks, and construction-related concrete lying in and around forest land must be cleared within 24 hours, Paver blocks cemented walkways, walls, any other cement construction and other such structures should be removed from the Tekdi within 7 days.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The residents also pointed out that it is illegal to erect fences and barricades in forests. All such fencing, gates, arches, and doors erected under the pretext of \u2018gardens\u2019 should be removed within 7 days.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">For restoration of the biodiversity that\u2019s already been harmed, a committee should be put up comprising of forest officers, environment experts, political leaders with an understanding of environmental issues and members of the\u00a0<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Sahakarnagar Citizens\u2019 Forum<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0as representatives of the citizens.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This committee should make an action plan within a month, which should be implemented promptly. The residents also demanded that if any such project is proposed on the forest land, a notice must be displayed at the entry point of <strong>Taljai Forest Area<\/strong> in such a manner that it is easily visible to the maximum number of people, for at least 21 days in advance of the commencement of the said work.
