What happens when you want to combine psychology, poetry and love for people together? You create Leather bound Stories<\/a> experience<\/strong> , that Tanushree Deshpande offers to many couples in love.<\/p>\n

Leather Bound Stories, started in 2018, where Tanushree was always fascinated with the way people communicate with each other. \u201cAs a student of Psychology and English Literature, I used to write short stories and poems about simple everyday things as well as some interesting insightful things, and it so happened in 2017 that I attended a book reading and book discussion session which was a pivot in my life. The book that was being discussed there was Ikigai. The core principle of it, as we know, is about finding out purpose of life. That one thing that made us want to get out of bed every morning. Ikigai states that in order to find that particular activity or that state for ourselves, we need to find something at the centre of a Venn diagram which had 4 parameters, namely Something you Love to do, Something you’re good at, Something the society needs and Something that will pay you,\u201d said Tanushree.<\/p>\n

This led her to look at LBS in a different way and expanded the focus to include a combination of specially curated activities that include talks, writing, and even drawing to some extent as the LBS experience.
\nThe activities are designed in such a way that trigger insightful conversations, include topics that might be awkward to talk about without context, and help to bring realisations and revelations.
\n\u201cIt is laced with the knowledge of psychology, human communication and behaviour patterns and the modern day challenges that we face of lack of quality time, feeling of disconnect etc,\u201d she added, further, \u201cIt is about bringing people closer by getting them to understand more about each other as people and not just as a role of husband, wife, parent.\u201d<\/p>\n

Currently, this LBS Experience is for couples who are about to get married. \u201c I had experienced a peaceful, harmonious and a much open atmosphere at my own home due to the kind of conversations we used to have as a family. And I have also experienced how poor communication can completely break a relationship, even when there is immense love for each other. As humans tend to live life looking backwards, we believe that memories can be formed only in retrospect or in the past that you can only reminisce about in the present, but we have the power to create our own memories. Infact, this is actually an Art!\u201d<\/p>\n

In LBS Experience, she creates and puts in happy memories and better conversation patterns into the treasure chest of relationships at the time when the relationship is happy and rosy; so that one is able to withdraw from it at a later time when faced with conflict, or circumstances around us may not be very favourable.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I work on is something we call as RQ, or Relationship Quotient<\/strong> .It is about helping them consciously create memories together. We have a base offering where we conduct a set of activities for which they get various Activity Cards. We also give them a Hardbound hand-held custom designed Book where they can stick those activity cards into. The thought is that it doesn’t remain just a one day activity, but something they keep doing and working on at a conscious level on a daily basis. We also have a professional photographer with us who captures them in the moment through his candid photos. These are also added to the LBS Experience Book along with the cards then,\u201d said Tanushree.<\/p>\n

Since it is all about creating memories and experiences, depending upon what the couples or families want, LBS adds on different experiences for them, like, curate a special wine for them understanding their personalities, organise a handmade artisan cheese platter etc.<\/p>\n
