Jui Keskar, a young girl of 14, made incredible use of the time that the \u2018Lockdown\u2019 of 2020 gave her. She developed a device that could track tremors in patients suffering from Parkinsons disease. Jui, who had seen her uncle suffer from the disease while growing up was inspired to provide patients with some sort of solution. She had noticed that more often than not, the medicines would be tried and tested as per the tremor history, a fact which bothered her very much. Her uncle\u2019s suffering and his frequent need for medical trips to Mumbai inspired Jui to come up with some home-grown solutions.<\/p>\n
In October 2020, Jui developed the wearable device \u2018JTumour 3-D\u2019 which is capable of monitoring attacks brought on by the condition in real-time. For this invention, this 9th grade student of Orchid school, has bagged the position of 1 of 20 winners of the IRIS (Initiative for Research and Innovation for STEM) National Fair. She will be representing India at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) to be held in the US, the date for which is yet to be announced.<\/p>\n
